The tradition of
the barn star in America can be traced back to the 1700ís, and
to at least the 1820ís in Pennsylvania. Barn stars were most
popular after the Civil War. On many older American barns, particularly
German farms, one could see a large decoration in the shape of a star
mounted on the face of the barn. Sometimes they were just aesthetic,
but sometimes they represented the trademark of a specific barn
builder. It is our understanding the original star shape was a
three-pointed star but has changed throughout the years. Colors had
significance with Amish and Pennsylvania Dutch barn paintings.
These folk art designs, many of which were star shaped, were
painted directly onto each end of the barn, and date back to the 1850ís.
Protection, also used to blend or bind elements together;
Red - Emotions, passion, charisma,
lust and also creativity.
Purity, power of the moon, allows energy to flow freely.
Blue - Protection, peace, calmness
Green - Growth, fertility, success
in things and ideas that grow.
Yellow - Health in body and mind,
love of man and the sun, connection to the God.
Brown - Mother earth, also can mean
friendship and strength.
Orange - Abundance in career,
projects and matters needing an added push.
Things that are sacred.
The barn star composition has
changed over the years. At first they were built directly into the barn
. Later the stars were crafted from wood as a separate piece.

Yes, we do sell our stars wholesale
The paint selections that are available come in "rustic" or "solid" coverage. The rustic paint coverage selection means that there is a contrasting base coat (usually black or brown) that shows the brush strokes at the bends of the star that will give it a "distressed" or rustic appearance. The solid paint coverage selection means that the coats of paint will cover the wings from edge to edge which will give it a "crisp" or solid appearance. The barn hearts are available in all of the color selections with the exception of Americana flag design or Olde Glory flag design. The Texas flag design is available in the barn hearts. The hearts are available only in the solid paint coverage. The painted barn stars and barn hearts have one to three coats of severe weather exterior paint applied to primed metal. Assembly required on the 32 inch to 120 inch stars is very simple. Just place the wings of the stars on top of each other and drop the provided screws into the holes and attach the provided nuts on the back.
